Motion Applied Partners with Moda Energy to Launch Ultra-Rapid EV Charging Site in Woking

Motion Applied, formerly McLaren Applied, has announced a partnership with Woking-based Charge Point Operator Moda Energy to deliver an ultra-rapid electric vehicle (EV) charging site in Woking.

The project supports the deployment of next-generation EV infrastructure in the UK, combining advanced charging technology with a locally led approach to support the transition to zero-emission transport.

The first site delivered under the partnership will deploy Motion Applied’s charging system, providing up to 600 kW of total site power. Each connector is capable of delivering up to 400 kW, with a guaranteed minimum of 150 kW per connector, ensuring consistent performance as vehicle charging capabilities evolve. The system’s distributed architecture enables dynamic power allocation, supporting reliable high-speed charging while minimising queuing and dwell times.

Moda Energy’s expansion strategy focuses on users currently underserved by high-power charging infrastructure. The Woking site will support local businesses, fleet and taxi operators transitioning to EVs, as well as public users, contributing to the town’s decarbonisation and sustainable transport objectives.
