Motion Applied developed MCU-200 in response to an increasing need to shed weight from aircraft systems. MCU-200 enables the removal of heavy and complex liquid cooling systems from eVTOL applications thanks to a new forced-air cooling solution, part of a brand new package weighing less than 3 kg.

A novel approach to cooling

MCU-200 leverages the same core technology as the broader MCU Product Family, now in a brand new ultra-lightweight package specifically designed for aerospace applications.

MCU-200 replaces the need for traditional liquid cooling by introducing a unique forced-air cooling solution. This solution allows for custom heat sink designs, meaning performance can be tailored between applications to minimise weight impact.

To push efficiency further and optimal motor control, MCU-200 benefits from market-leading software features fund across the AMPEX Product Family, including Continuously Variable Switching Frequency, Hybrid Pulse Width Modulation and Sensorless Control.
